Farewell but Not Forever
On Friday 21st June, at All Saints CE Junior Academy, we bade a fond farewell to Bernadette, our link teacher from Sierra Leone. During her visit with us, she visited all of the classes and shared her experiences with our students. This visit had been funded by The British Council, Connecting Classrooms project and part of our project work has been around Zero Waste. Whilst visiting the school Bernadette has met up with our IPC and Eco Council and discussed the projects across our schools.
Erika from year 4 loves to have people like Bernadette over from Africa. It is so wonderful to share the experience of our schools. We also get to ask her questions about life in Africa. The things like clothing and bracelets are so beautiful too. The Sierra Leone friendship link is a wonderful thing and I loved raising money for the sanitation project, which will help provide toilets and drinking water four our partner schools. I also love sharing our learning techniques with one another.
On behalf of our partnership, I would like to thank our school community for their generosity and kindness throughout our global work both past and present.
Many thanks also to the Mayor, Ruth England (18 Hours) and families of our students for attending our farewell celebration.
