We had a terrific time at this year’s Big Quiz Night for the Link. 
The genial Dave Hooper did a great job as questionmaster and the AV system all worked beautifully. There was great suspense by the end of Round 9. The Blackbirds had kept their Joker to the end. Would they be able to overtake the leaders at the last second? And they did! 
The pretty difficult Picture Round was won by No Ideas.
Altogether the evening raised £1922 towards our current Sanitation Project in the Hastings SL schools. (The rainy season is over and work on some of the wells has resumed. We’ll be able to report on progress soon.) Dave auctioned a genuine Sierra Leonean shirt, and a £250 voucher generously put up by Dain Jensen at Kiley’s Karpets. The quizzers brought lots of raffle prizes with them, so that the raffle alone raised £617. A huge thank-you to everyone who made the evening run smoothly, to Dave Hooper himself, to Ark Alexandra Academy for so kindly hosting the event and to Ashley, Ron and the academy’s site maintenance team who set everything up and solved any problems. The Link is just so grateful to all our supporters who put themselves through a gruelling evening of brainteasing torture.
